2006:
Hi My Name Is Alexis and I am going to tell you about the church called St Catherine of Genoa that was also a school. First I woke up, took a shower and then I put on my clothes, did my hair and brushed my teeth. Mrs. Louise, the leader of the young Vincentians, picked me up. It took a half hour but we finally got there. The church was very small. The school was very big. When we got into the gym for the meeting first, we had an opening prayer. Then we ate breakfast at 9.15 through 9.45. I ate two muffins and a bagel. When we were finished, we learned about immigrants and how they need papers. Then we had to ask them questions and when that was over we had mass. When I went in the church I remembered that the church was small on the outside and huge in the inside. The walls were white, yellow and brown. The books are orange, black, red and purple. The Altar is green, white and brown and the priest has a very big chair and plants all around it. To me he looked like a king. There is a really big cross of Jesus hanging on the top of him and there were a lot of signs that said charity, come Holy Spirit, inflame our hearts. On the window they have saints on it. And the priest took out a gold cup and put the wine in it and a tiny bit of water and we drank it and ate the bread and then prayed. There were candles that you could light. They also had a big cross. Then we had lunch and I ate chicken and rice and a lot of fruit. Then we talked about cancer, then said a closing prayer and then it was over.
